Beneficiaries of the empowerment programme
Chief Emeka Emmanuel Nwoba has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to humanitarian service, community welfare, and grassroots development through a comprehensive empowerment programme for indigent women and undergraduates in Inyere Autonomous Community, Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Widely regarded as a true son of Inyere, Chief Nwoba initiated the programme out of deep love, compassion, and a strong sense of responsibility toward the welfare and sustainable development of his people. The initiative, which many community members described as the foundation for a “New Inyere,” reflects his vision of a progressive, self-reliant, and economically empowered community.
The empowerment programme, held on Friday, December 26, 2025, was designed to provide both immediate relief and long-term support to vulnerable groups within the community.
As part of the intervention, a total of 213 bags of rice were distributed to women across Inyere Autonomous Community, while over 40 women also received cash support to ease economic pressures during the Christmas festive season.

In further support of education and human capital development, eleven (11) undergraduates from the community were awarded educational grants of ₦50,000 each. The bursaries are intended to assist beneficiaries with tuition fees, learning materials, and other academic-related expenses, thereby reducing the financial burden on students and their families.
Addressing beneficiaries and community leaders at the event, Chief Nwoba described the programme as a personal and deliberate effort to give back to his roots and uplift his people. He recalled his early struggles after completing the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), noting that those experiences shaped his passion for supporting women and young people, whom he described as the backbone and future of any progressive society.
“I know what it means to struggle,” he said. “I have experienced hunger and hardship, and these experiences drive my passion to support others—particularly women and young people—who hold the key to sustainable growth and development.”
Beyond palliative distribution and educational support, Chief Nwoba announced a youth capacity-building initiative aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and economic self-reliance. He revealed that ten selected youths from Inyere Autonomous Community would be sponsored to Abuja to undergo practical business training and mentorship within his company. The programme is designed to expose participants to real-world business operations, enhance their skills, and prepare them for independent economic ventures.
Chief Nwoba, the CEO of EEN Group Limited, further disclosed that the Christmas palliative distribution and educational support scheme would be institutionalized as an annual initiative, with plans to expand its scope and impact in the coming years. He urged the undergraduate beneficiaries to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to their academic pursuits, emphasizing that excellence, integrity, and perseverance are essential for long-term success.
Community leaders, beneficiaries, and residents expressed profound appreciation for the initiative, describing it as timely, thoughtful, and impactful.
Many commended the balanced approach that combines immediate welfare intervention with long-term empowerment through education, skills acquisition, and mentorship, noting that the programme marks a significant step toward sustainable development and the realization of a renewed vision for Inyere Autonomous Community.
