
Borno State Youth Parliament held its 4th official sitting at the hallowed chambers of the Borno State House of Assembly, where critical issues affecting young people in the state took centre stage
The sitting was presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Usman, who declared proceedings open and welcomed dignitaries, invited guests, and members of the parliament.
A major highlight of the session was a motion moved by Hon. Hadiza Isa of Bayo Consistency the State.
The motion received unanimous support from honourable members.
The motion was seconded by the Hon. Member representing Abadam Constituency, while members representing Jere, Biu, and Magumeri Constituencies co-sponsored the motion, emphasizing its importance and the need for actionable strategies to protect vulnerable girls in schools.
The sitting was attended by respected leaders and partners in youth development, including Hon. Hajj. Inna Galadima, Executive Chairperson, Jere LGA; Comr. Bulama Abiso, Chairman, Network of Civil Society Organisations, Borno State; Amb. Abbatcha Umar Nanabe, PCRC Digital Chairman, Borno State; Secretary, PCRC Borno State; Comr. Goni M. Tar; Hon. Alh. Ahmad Garbai; Sen. Bussami Lawan Mustapha Gubio; Hon. Shamsudeen Ahmad; Amb. Mustapha Alau; and students, youth representatives, and stakeholders from across the state. Their presence reflected strong institutional collaboration and support for youth-led governance.
