President Bola Tinubu commissions project in Ogun State
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised the pace of development in Ogun State, describing recent infrastructure projects in Iperu as a model of deliberate and sustainable national progress.
The President made this known in a post on his official X handle after returning to the state, where he commissioned several key projects, including the Gateway Cargo Airport and a new Nigeria Customs Service hub.
“I returned to Ogun State today with a full heart,” Tinubu wrote.
Reflecting on his visit, the President said the developments in Iperu represent the kind of progress Nigeria must pursue.
“What I saw in Iperu is the kind of progress we must insist on as a nation. Quite deliberate, and built to last,” he stated.

Tinubu described the Gateway Cargo Airport as a symbol of purposeful leadership and long-term planning.
“The Gateway Cargo Airport stands as proof of what is possible when vision is matched with discipline. As I said, ‘Our investment is about our people. Today’s foundation is for tomorrow’s prosperity.’”
The President also commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for his leadership and commitment to sustainable development.
“I acknowledge Governor Dapo Abiodun @DapoAbiodunCON for his focus and consistency. Development is not about noise. It is about decisions that improve lives,” Tinubu said.
Tinubu highlighted several initiatives launched during the visit, including aircraft, electric bikes, tractors, and security assets, noting that development must be practical and inclusive.
“From the aircraft launched today to the electric bikes, tractors, and security assets, this is what progress should look like. Practical, real, and visible. ‘Development must touch every level,’ and I am pleased to see that principle taking shape in Ogun State.”

The President further linked the progress in Ogun State to his administration’s Renewed Hope reforms, stating that the policy direction is enabling states to deliver tangible results.
“Our Renewed Hope reforms are not abstract. They have provided more resources for sub-nationals and are creating room for states to act and deliver. Many states, including Ogun, are rising to the moment,” he wrote.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to long-term national development.
“We will stay the course. ‘We are building for people, and we are building for prosperity.’”
Tinubu also commissioned a newly constructed Nigeria Customs Service hub, describing it as a major step toward strengthening national institutions and boosting economic security.

“In Ogun State, I also commissioned a new Nigeria Customs Service hub which is a complete ecosystem with barracks, a training college, a warehouse, and a hospital.”
He emphasized that strengthening institutions remains key to economic growth and national stability.
“This is how institutions are strengthened. This is how we support the men and women who keep our economy secure and our borders working.”
The President’s visit to Ogun State comes amid ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to promote infrastructure development, boost economic activity, and enhance institutional capacity across the country.
