The Ogun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it will commence actions against speed violations to curb road crashes
Mr Ahmed Umar, Sector Commander of FRSC, announced this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, in Ota, Ogun.
Umar said the exercise had become necessary as speeding on the highways generally led to crashes that resulted to unnecessary loss of lives and properties.
The sector Commander said FRSC was deploying a radar gun to detect speed of vehicles on the highway.
He added that any driver caught contravening speed limit regulations would be apprehended and prosecuted accordingly.
“We are calling on all motorists to abide with the speed limit regulations to avoid mishaps on the highways.
“The FRSC’ programmes to ensure safety of lives and properties are yielding positive results but the motorists need to change their attitudes while driving,” Umar said. (NAN)
