The Nigeria Police Force has deployed 300 Special Combatant Officers to Zamfara State under ‘Operation Puff Adder 2’ to end Banditry, Kidnapping, Cattle rustling, and other criminal activities in the state.
Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro who revealed this while launching the operation in Gusau, said, the combatants are compliment the effort of the existing security architecture targeted at reclaiming and stabilising the ungovernable spaces dominated by recalcitrant bandits in the state.
CP Abutu charged the personnel to be civil, sensitive to the cultural attribute of people, and law-abiding but called on them to be firm in the discharge of their duties and ruthless to criminal elements until normalcy is restored.
Commanding Officer of the operation, ACP Musa Abdullahi restated his commitment to abide by the Rules Of Engagement (ROE) with full commitment to the operation until normalcy is restored.
Commissioner of Security and Home Affairs, Abubakar Muhammad Dauran said the state government will provide all necessary logistics for the personnel of the operation, reiterating the state government’s resolve to address the issues.
