The Nasarawa State Police Command says it has identified strategic spots prone to attacks by bandits and other criminal activities across the state for aggressive and surveillance operations.
The Commissioner of Police Mr. Bola Longe stated this during the relaunch of the Nigeria Police Force ‘Operation Puff Adder 2’ in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital.
CP Bola Longe said the well-equipped police personnel comprising Mobile Police (MOPOL), Special Forces, and Counter-Terrorists Officers had been deployed to strategic locations to tackle frontally any form of insecurity in the state.
He pointed out that the operation would work closely with 503 trained Special Constables who are providing the police with credible information on criminal activities in their various communities to achieve the desired results.
The highpoint of the relaunch of “Operation Puff Adder 2” in Nasarawa State was the parade of over 28 suspected criminals including one Inusa Alhaji for his alleged involvement in the abduction and killing of the State APC Chairman, Mr. Philip Shekwo.
Also paraded were 2 suspected bandits who were arrested on their way from Nasarawa-Toto LGA to procure rounds of AK-47 live ammunition in Keana.
Items recovered from the suspects include: 7 firearms, 32 live ammunition, 4 vehicles, and one million fifty thousand Naira cash.
