Nigerian Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has advised officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to switch to the front camera on the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) whenever the rear camera develops a fault during voter accreditation.
The singer made the recommendation on Saturday through a post on his verified X account while voting was ongoing in the Osun State governorship election.
“If your BVAS camera is not working, please tell the officials to use front camera. It is very active and fast!,” Davido wrote.
His comment followed reports from some polling units alleging technical difficulties with BVAS devices during the electoral process.
The BVAS is an electronic device deployed by INEC to accredit voters using fingerprint and facial recognition technology. It also serves other critical functions in the conduct of elections.
Davido has remained vocal in the lead-up to the Osun governorship poll, repeatedly calling for transparency and urging both local and international observers to closely monitor the conduct of the election.
