Governor Zulum disclosed this while inaugurating the State’s Rural Electrification Board (REB) and Guidance and Counselling Commission at the Government House Council Chamber, in Maiduguiri.
The Borno State Government on Tuesday, said it would electrify all the 27 Local Government Areas of the State to the National grid on or before December, 2021.
According to the Governor: “The Rural Electrification Board (REB), is saddled with the responsibility of generating, transmitting and distribution, rehabilitation and reconstruction of electricity to the rural areas.. I therefore direct the board to electrify the 27 Local Government Areas of the State”.
“The contract includes: the provision of concrete poles for the electrification of Dikwa, Gwoza, Kukawa, Nganzai, and Monguno. You are hereby directed to award the contract that will connect these Local Government Areas to National grid, before the end of December this year”.
“I urge you to put your best to ensure the complete electrification of the 27 Local Government Councils to the National grid”, Zulum said.
The Governor also called on the members of the Borno State Guidance and Counselling Commission to ensure recruitment of the state indigenes into the Federal Government Agencies.
