
ARMSTRONG ALLAHMAGANI, Bauchi –
No fewer than 780 processed drivers’ licenses are lying at Bauchi State Motor Licensing Offices across the state unclaimed by their owners, the Federal Road Safety Corp has disclosed.
The Sector Commander, FRSC Bauchi State Command, Yusuf Abdullahi, who disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Saturday, vowed that vehicles of drivers without license will be impounded.
He declared that the FRSC would begin the enforcement of the use of license by drivers in the state from Monday.
The exercise, which, according to him, is tagged: “Operation Show Your Driver’s License” will be done across the state even as he called on drivers to immediately go and collect or process theirs as nobody will be spared.
Abdullahi said: “FRSC Bauchi wish to use this medium to inform the motoring public that over Seven Hundred and Eighty processed National Drivers License lying in various offices all over the State Motor Licensing Offices unclaimed.
“FRSC Bauchi will be embarking on a special operation titled “Operation show your Driver’s License.” The operation would commence on Monday, 5th July, 2021.
“Motorists are advice to visit any of the motor license offices in the State to collect/ commence the process of acquiring their drivers license with immediate effect.”
He added that: “The operations will accord all violators vehicles will be impounded at the point of arrest and sanction appropriately.”
