
Chairman of the APC E-Registration and Reconciliation Committee, Borno State, Ambassador Baba Jidda
Chairman of the APC E-Registration and Reconciliation Committee, Borno State, Ambassador Baba Jidda, alongside members of the committee, toured Mafa, Dikwa, and Marte Local Government Areas to boost and strengthen the ongoing APC e-registration exercise across the three LGAs.
The committee team, comprising Honorable Tijjani Umara Kumalia, QS Mohammed Makinta, Hon Busami Ardoram, Hon Babakura Shettima, Hon Mohd Maina Tar,Alh. Zanna Mahdi, Hon Garba Mullima, Barrister Ba’ande Imam and the Secretary, Dr. Babakura Mamman Gadai,6was warmly received by Local Government Chairmen, Members of the House of Assembly, Councillors, and Party Executives in all the LGAs visited.
Details of the visit was contained in a statement issued and signed on Monday in Maiduguri by Comrade Abba Kakami, former Chairman, NUJ Borno State Council and Head, Media Team, APC E-Registration and Reconciliation Committee, Borno State.
Speaking during the visits, Ambassador Jidda emphasized that APC e-registration remains the foundation of party unity and future success, stressing that only duly e-registered members are eligible to contest for any elective position, including councillorship.
Briefing the committee in Mafa LGA, the Chairman, Alh. Saleh Bukar Said, disclosed that the council had recruited over 50 ad-hoc registration staff, procured a new printing machine, Android phones, and power banks, and deployed NIMC staff to the Mafa headquarters to ensure a smooth and credible exercise.
In Dikwa LGA, the Honourable Member of the House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Zakariya, welcomed the committee and assured them of total support. He announced a personal donation of ₦1 million, while retired Permanent Secretaries donated ₦500,000, and the Permanent Secretary, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, contributed ₦1 million in support of the e-registration exercise. The Chairman of Dikwa LGA also provided all necessary equipment to facilitate the process.
Similarly, in Marte LGA, the Honourable Chairman assured the committee of the council’s full commitment and continued support to strengthen and sustain the exercise.
The Chairman and members of the committee expressed satisfaction with the impressive turnout recorded across the three LGAs. Ambassador Jidda described the extension of the e-registration exercise as a golden opportunity for APC members in Borno State to demonstrate their strength, unity, and loyalty to the party and its progressive ideals under the people-centred leadership of His Excellency, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, mni, Executive Governor of Borno State.
According to him, the e-registration exercise is not a routine activity, but a people-driven process aimed at strengthening internal democracy, promoting reconciliation, and positioning the party for future electoral victories.
He called on ward, local government, and zonal leaders, as well as youth and women groups, to intensify mobilisation efforts and ensure that no genuine APC member is left behind before the February 8 deadline.
Ambassador Jidda concluded by assuring party members of a transparent, inclusive, and credible process, urging all APC supporters to come out en masse, get registered, and continue to strengthen the party from the grassroots.
