The Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Suleiman, has been reelected under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for another term to represent Ningi State Constituency.
Suleiman, who is also the Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, was declared winner of Saturday’s election, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The INEC Returning Officer for the election, Professor Shuaibu Muhammad, declared that the Speaker scored 16, 866 votes to defeat Khalid Abdulmalik Ningi of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 15, 065 votes.
The candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Hon. Danlami Bara’u scored 4,886 votes.
