
The arrested suspect

The chairman of the Boys Brigade of Nigeria (BBN), Akwanga Battalion, has been apprehended for alleged stealing of pigs in Gwanje Loko, a community in Akwanga LGA of Nasarawa State
The suspect, who is the Chairman of the BBN, Akwanga Battalion, was apprehended by residents of the community on Wednesday July 17, with stolen pigs and handed over to the Nigeria Police, for appropriate actions.
Upon interrogation, he confessed to stealing the pigs for a meat seller located at the popular A.A. Koto street of Akwanga town who has also been arrested.
When contacted, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident.
According to the police spokesman, Mr Garba was caught and mobbed by angry youths, but the police raced to the scene and rescued the victim.
“He is undergoing treatment, after which he will be charged to court for prosecution,” Nansel added. One of the receivers of the stolen pigs was also arrested” he said.
Meanwhile, the Boys’ Brigade of Nigeria (BBN) Akwanga Council has suspended the embattled Chairman over his involvement in the criminal act.
In a letter dated Thursday July 18th, the Council said the suspension became necessary in order to protect the image of the organization.
