Calabar Carnival: NUJ tasks Cross River Govt on talent discovery

The Chairman , Cross River State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists,(NUJ), Comrade Gill Nsa, has charged the state government to give priority attention to the entertainment industry due to its vast economic potentials.

Nsa gave the charge when the leadership of Visionary Arts Consortium, an affiliate of Ignis Global Entertainment, paid a courtesy visit to his office in Calabar, the state Capital.

The Chairman noted that the entertainment industry if encouraged and sustained by government would go a long way to reduce the rate of unemployment through new discoveries of talents among youths in the state.

He expressed joy that the consortium is regrouping talented youths in good time since it is coming at a period the state government is hosting the biggest street party in Africa, “Carnival Calabar”

According to The Chairman, discovery of talents among youths would boost the entertainment industry to justify Cross River as the true Tourism Destination in Africa.

Earlier, National President of the organisation Mrs Nkese Amar Ignis who, extolled the leadership of NUJ under Comrade Gill Nsa, requested NUJ’s collaboration with a view to publicising activities of the group

“We are here to inform the media that we exist in Cross River” Ignis reaffirmed

The Consortium which craves for creativity, is an umbrella body comprising actors, movie producers and directors, creative arts designers, script writers, musicians, dancers and drummers,
