Borno govt, security agents urged to adopt traditional system in reintegrating repentant insurgents

Stakeholders at a community dialogue in Maidugiri over the weekend have called for the adoption of traditional system, pattern and protocol of administration of the ongoing process.of reintegrating the deradicalized and rehabilitated repentant Boko Haram insurgents in Borno State..

 

The stakeholders at the dialogue forum organized by Allamin Foundation, also called on government and security agencies to restrict and monitor the reckless movements of the returnee repentant insurgents in and out of the community over fear of possible attacks.

They further urged the government and security agents to liaise with the community and religious leaders as well as other groups in the reintegration process of the repentant Boko Haram insurgents.

The participants urged people to forgive, embrace and show love to the repentant insurgents stressing that they are part of the society but offended the people in the society.

They also called in the government to establish and consolidate the strategies and procedures of handling the reconciliation and reintegration of the repentant insurgents in the community while urging the people to shun stigmatisation against the repentant insurgents.
