The friendly between Denmark and Ukraine in Odense was stopped on Sunday, June 7, 2026, after Christian Eriksen collapsed again on the pitch.
It happened in the second half with Denmark leading 2–1. Eriksen went down around the 65th minute after appearing to clutch his chest. The stadium went quiet almost immediately.
Players from both sides called for medical help as staff rushed in. Teammates and opponents formed a circle around him while he was treated on the pitch before being helped off.
The Danish Football Federation later said Eriksen is “conscious and doing well under the circumstances” and is being monitored in hospital.

It is the second time Eriksen has collapsed while playing for Denmark. The first was during Euro 2020 against Finland in June 2021, when he suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch and had to be resuscitated before being taken to hospital.
The latest incident brought back immediate concern across the football world, especially given his return to top-level football after that earlier scare.
The match was called off shortly after on safety grounds.
Doctors are expected to run further checks to find out what triggered the incident.
