Court remands man for allegedly defiling his teenage daughter

An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Friday ordered that a 47-year-old man, Abdulrahman Malik, who allegedly defiled his 17-year-old daughter be remanded in custodial centre.

The police charged Malik with defilement.

Chief Magistrate O.G. Oghre who did not take the plea of Ayinla, ordered that he be remanded in the Ikoyi Custodial Centre.

The magistrate ordered the police to file the matter in the Ikeja Sexual and Domestic Violence court, Ikeja.

Oghre adjourned the matter until Nov. 18, for mention.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Kehinde Olatunde told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Sept. 28, at Olodu Area, Ikorodu.

He alleged that Malik defiled the 17-year-old girl who is his daughter.

The offence, he noted, contravened the provisions of Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State .  (NAN)
