Covid-19: NCDC records 120 new infections, 160,657 total cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has registered 120 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 160,657.

As at Sunday (14th, March 2021), the public health agency also recorded no COVID-19-related deaths, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria to 2,013 deaths.

The NCDC made this know in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov.

It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 160,657 confirmed cases, out of which 145,399 had been discharged.

The public health agency also noted that the new infections were reported in 14 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The 120 new cases are reported from 14 states- Lagos (32), Rivers (25), Kaduna (20), Bayelsa (13), Kano (7), Jigawa(5), Borno (5), Abia (4), Oyo (3), Plateau (2), FCT (1), Ogun (1) Nasarawa (1) and Imo (1).

The NCDC said that there were now 13,245 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it has so far carried out sample test on 1,601,396 persons since the outbreak of the infection last year.

It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, is coordinating response activities Nationwide.
