
Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu

The Cross River State Government has given awards of honour to ten newly elevated public servants who are from the state.
The event held yesterday night in Transcorp Hotel Calabar and was graced by Cross River State Government.
The honorees included Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Emmanuel Undiandeye; Minister of Sports, Senator John Owan-Enoh, Minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation, Dr Betta Edu and Hon. Justice Jane Esienanwan Inyang of the Appeal Court.
Others are six Assistant Inspectors General of Police, namely AIG Okon Effiong Okon, AIG Echeng Eworo, AIG Paul Ojeka Odama, AIG Patrick Ogon Edung, AIG Susan Horsefall (rtd) and AIG Emmanuel Effiom.
Governor Bassey Otu said they were all celebrated for being illustrious citizens of the state and their commitments to nation building.
He said it was a defining moment as the state recognizes excellence even as he commended President Bola Tinubu for granting them opportunities to serve.
The governor said the awards will not be limited to the ten as there are many other illustrious sons and daughters of the state whom they will still pick out from time to time.
Acknowledging the awards on behalf of others, Justice Jane Esienanwan Inyang of the Appeal Court said they will continue to work to lift the banner of the state higher. Otu
