Danbatta urges Kano residents to support FG’s initiative on peace in the country

Executive Vice Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Danbatta, has urged the people Kano State to support the Federal Government’s initiatives toward ensuring peace and stability in the country.
He made the appeal when he paid a courtesy visit on the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, on Saturday.
NCC Director, Public Affairs, Dr Ikechukwu Adinde, said this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.
Adinde said that Danbatta, an indigene of the state, said that government had introduced various programmes on youth empowerment, especially through provision of digital skills and literacy.
Responding, Bayero pledged to continually support government’s developmental initiatives and urged all leaders to promote peaceful coexistence in the country.
He thanked the NCC boss and his entourage for the visit, commended President Muhammadu Buhari, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, for the excellent performance of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry in Nigeria.
Danbatta had made similar calls on the need to maintain peace for the sustenance of socioeconomic development in Nigeria, during his visit to eminent leaders like the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’adu Abubakar III, and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, among others. (NAN)
