Emir of Bauchi reinstates suspended elder statesman, Bello Kirfi as Wazirin

An elder statesman, Mohammed Bello Kirfi, who was suspended as the Wazirin Bauchi in the Bauchi State Emirate Council, has been reinstated to his position, over three years after.

NATIONAL ACCORD reports that the indefinite suspension of Kirfi as Wazirin Bauchi and member of the Bauchi emirate council with immediate effect by the Emir was contained in a press release dated March 6, 2017.

The press release stated that the suspension was due to the Waziri’s “unsatisfactory conduct and disloyalty” to the Bauchi emirate.

However, no further details or explanations were given to the “unsatisfactory conduct and disloyalty” as stated in the release.

The Waziri in the northern Nigeria means the Emir’s Prime Minister and Adviser and a member of the Emirate Council.

But the Emir, Alhaji (Dr) Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu, reinstated Kirfi on Wednesday, over three years after his suspension.

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed,   presented the letter from Bauchi Emirate Council to Alhaji Bello Kirfi, reinstating him as Wazirin Bauchi, on Wednesday evening at his residence in the state capital.

He expressed gratitude to the Emir of Bauchi, for the gesture of reinstating the Octaganerian.

Mohammed explained that, the lifting of the suspension followed intervention and wider consultation with critical stakeholders in the state and in the Emirate in particular.

He applauded the elder statesman for his patriotism, commitment and sportsmanship especially his efforts  in the protection of the rights of Bauchi indigenes and Nigerians in general.

The governor said: “I am here with my Deputy and other top Government officials to pay you this auspicious visit to present you a message from the Emir of Bauchi, His Royal Highness, Dr Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Bauchi state, all traditional leaders, it is my honour and privilege to present you with your letter of reinstatement as Wazirin Bauchi by the Emir of Bauchi. Alhamdulillah, I am so much happy that the reinstatement came under my tenure.”

He therefore felicitated with the former Minister of Special Duties over his reinstatement as Wazirin Bauchi, describing it as a good development to the entire people of the state.

In his response, Kirfi thanked Governor Bala Mohammed for his intervention and leadership.

The elder statesman further thank the entire people of Bauchi State for their support and understanding.
