A musical video posted on the social media by an upcoming musician based in Lagos, has come under heavy criticism for debasing Gboko, the traditional headquarters of the Tiv.
President of Ior Gboko Foundation (IGF), a non-Governmental Organisation, Dr. Jimmy Ajim, in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, condemned in strong terms the viral in which one Mr. Avalumun Msughter claims to be a Gboko boy.
Dr. AjimIn a stinging rebuke, Dr Ajim stated that the Lagos musician may have been of Gboko extraction “but such a disgusting and naked appearance does not portray the identity of an Original Gboko boy.”
“Apart from the clean environment Gboko people maintain, they are known for their smart and spotless outfits- both at home and in public,” Dr. Ajim noted.
He therefore implored the musician to retrace his steps by dressing decently even if this is his musical trademark.
In the video, the musician is seen half-nude, performing on stage with people gaping at his weird outlook.
