Gov Lalong, Emirs, others pay glowing tribute to late Hon Maitala

The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong and other top political and traditional rulers have paid glowing tributes to late Hon Haruna Maitala, a member representing Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency, who died in a road crash last Friday.

The Governor who led the government delegation on a condolence visit to the deceased family, was accomplained by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Idris Wase, Deputy Governor Prof. Sonni Tyoden, Secretary to the Government of the State Prof. Danladi Abok Atu, with some members of his cabinet and Emir of Wase, Alh. Muhammadu Sambo Haruna.

Governor Lalong, said the death of the late legislator who was on his way to attend the wedding of one of his sons is not only tragic but painful.

He however urged the family to accept the death in good faith and consider it as an act of God. He said the late lawmaker has done his best and all that remains is for those still living to continue his legacies of kindness, love and sacrifice.

On his part, The Emir of Wase, Alh. Haruna said the late Hon. Maitala was a lover of peace and a philanthropist who served his constituency and the State with passion.

However, the family appreciated the visit and thanked the Governor for according them such honour even when their late father was alive.

Prayers were offered for the repose of the souls of the deceased.

Late Hon Maitala was buried in Jos last Saturday according to Muslim rite.
