Gov. Lalong urged to sustain peace for businesses to thrive in Plateau

The Chairman, Plateau Our Heritage (POH), Hon. Alex Kwapnoe has charged the state government to ensure that it create a secure and conducive atmosphere for the people to enable them engage in entrepreneurship activities.

The chairman gave the charge during a one day “Entrepreneurship and Business Management” training workshop, which was held at the Jos Business School (JBS).

NATIONAL ACCORD reports that workshop was extended to members of POH by the proprietor of the institution; Mr. Nde Ezekiel Gomos.

Hon. Kwapnoe, who was represented by the Assistant Secretary, Dr. Plangsat Dayil, noted that small scale business can only thrive when security of life and property is guaranteed.

According to him, the government and its security agencies must be proactive and live up to expectations as more people are showing commitments to engage in business activities that would fetch them extra income as salaries are becoming unsure this days.

He said the POH would remain grateful to Mr. Gomos, who was magnanimous to share his wealth of experience for free to the POH members, while noting that the collaboration was the beginning of more positive things to come to the POH and the JBS.

Responding, Mr. Gomos noted that he was delighted to exchange ideas with all the participants, while thanking the leadership and members of POH for utilizing the opportunities given to them.

According to him, “We all have the responsibility to continue to share the message of entrepreneurship and am glad that POH has taken the bull by the horn in addition to its focus on security, social development and other issues. JBS is ever ready to engage with groups who are desirous in any training that is related to business and entrepreneurship activities”.

Highlights of the training include: The introduction to starting a business, generation of new ideas, easy ways to summarise a business plan, elements of the Business Model, sources of finance among others.

The agenda contains: Why do we do business? Succeeding in business: the Model Canvas, Raising funds for busines, how to succeed in business? How to draft a good business plan? As well as conversations around Plateau State.
