The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of applications for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for commissioned officer positions.
According to the recruitment notice, the exercise is open to both civilians and serving military personnel who meet the eligibility requirements. Successful applicants will be commissioned into selected specialist corps of the Nigerian Army, where their professional expertise will be deployed in support of national defence and security operations.
The available corps under the DSSC recruitment include the Nigerian Army Engineers, Nigerian Army Signals, Nigerian Army Medical Corps, Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and the Nigerian Army Education Corps.
The Army emphasised that the application process is completely free and strictly online. Interested candidates are required to submit their applications through the official recruitment portal from January 7 to February 4, 2026.
