The Borno State Deputy Governor, Umar Kadafur, has received the delegation of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) led the Director General, Dr Mohammed Bulama to commiserate with the Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Zulum and the people of Borno state over the 10th September 2024 flood incident which struck many part of Maiduguri and Jere LGAs.
The Director General FRCN , while presenting his speech said it was really a devastating situations whereby over two million people affected, infrastructural facilities, houses, farmlands and livestock’s.
Dr Bulama also added that his family residence and that of his staff in Maiduguri office are also affected, assuring that the support will be a continuous one.
Dr Mohammed Bulama also donated relief materials comprising of food and non food items, such as, Indomie – 500, Mats – 400, Buckets – 420, Rubber Kettle – 400, Slippers – 400, Mosquitoes Nets – 400.
AMA Foundation visits
The Aminu Musa Abdulsalam Foundation delegation led by Fatima Jaafar were also received by the Deputy Governor at his chamber on a sympathy visit to the state government and to support victims with a medical outreach at a designated center to be provided by the state government.
The Coordinator of the foundation while presenting her commiserations speech said, “,AMA Foundation is planning a more extensive 10-days medical outreach. This outreach will cover a range of services , including pediatrics, maternal health, general medicine and eye care.
Fatima Jaafar also requested to collaborate with an IDPs camp, Kashim Shettima maternity centre and Eye hospital Maiduguri, so that it will implement it programmes in supporting the victims and the state.
The Deputy Governor thanked and appreciated the FRCN and AMA Foundation for their visit and support, saying ,”FRCN is led by his elder brother and former commissioner of information and culture in Borno State and AMA has been a developing partners in the state.”
Kadafur however directed the Head of Service to liaise with AMA Foundation through the line ministry for the successful completion of it programmes.
