
Kani Governor, Abba Yusuf and Super Eagles player, Ahmed Musa

Kano State Government has approved the appointment of Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa, as the new General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club.
Governor Abba Yusuf made the announcement as part of efforts to reposition the club ahead of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The state government has also reconstituted the board of the club, with Ali Muhammad-Umar retained as the Chairman.
Other members of the board include Salisu Kosawa, Yusuf Danladi, Idris Garu, and Nasiru Bello, among others.
Director-General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Kano, Sunusi Bature, said Musa’s appointment was a strategic move to leverage his wealth of experience and leadership in repositioning the club as a formidable contender in the league.
“In line with global best practices, the board proposed the appointment of renowned international footballer, Musa, as the General Manager of the club,” Bature said.
The government expressed confidence in the ability of the reconstituted board to deliver under the current administration.
