Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has come out to defend her husband, Olakunle Churchill, against allegations of physical abuse.
In a candid social media post, Rosy Meurer described her husband as “not a woman beater,” expressing frustration over the false claims.
Meurer emphasized the importance of telling one’s own story, saying, “If you don’t tell your side of the story, they will tell it for you in ways that suit them for the world to believe.”
She added, “No one is allowed to tell my story. It’s my story, not yours. Only I can tell you what’s happening in my life, and no one else.
Meurer also poked fun at her haters, saying, “It’s funny when haters wish beating in my marriage when it’s obvious their mothers, daughters, and sisters will fall victims of massive beatings.”
She concluded by stating, “My husband never fits talk wetin dey him mouth finish, let alone beating a woman. Allegations no be by force, my husband is not a woman beater.”
Churchill’s response
Meanwhile, Churchill had earlier responded to the rumors, joking that his critics would have to wait until menopause before he and his wife would divorce.
He mentioned that his family was currently enjoying a vacation in Disney Paris, saying, “I hear say I dey trend who cook am? My family dey Disney Paris dey enjoy summer life. Una go wait until menopause come.”
The couple, who got married in 2019, has two children together.
Meurer is a Gambian-born Nigerian actress and producer, known for her roles in TV series like “Oasis” and movies like “Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons.”
