Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), successfully disrupted a planned terrorists attack on military personnel in Rann, Borno State, neutralizing several insurgents as they attempted to flee.
The operation, executed in the early hours of Friday, August 8, 2025, demonstrated the NAF’s rapid response capabilities in countering security threats.
NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, announced the operation’s success in a statement issued in Abuja.
He highlighted that the mission relied on precise intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) efforts, coupled with air interdiction (AI) operations, to foil the assault before it could materialize.
According to Ejodame, the NAF air component collaborated closely with ground forces to monitor and track groups of insurgents attempting to escape after their failed attack.
“Our forces employed precision munitions to target the fleeing terrorists, neutralizing several and restoring peace to the area,” he stated, underscoring the effectiveness of the coordinated effort.
The operation was launched following credible intelligence that indicated an imminent terrorist assault on troops stationed in Rann.
The NAF’s swift intervention prevented the attack, ensuring the safety of both military personnel and local communities in the region.
Ejodame emphasized the NAF’s dedication to supporting ground operations, stating, “This mission reflects our resolute commitment to delivering close air support, protecting communities, and neutralizing threats with precision and speed.”
“This swift and decisive action underscores the NAF’s unwavering commitment to providing close air support to troops, safeguarding communities, and neutralising insurgent threats with speed,” he added.
