Nasarawa Female Legislator empowers constituents worth N20m

Member representing Nasarawa Central constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim, has disbursed rice, millet, wrappers and other items to the people of her constituency ahead of sallah celebration.

Danyaro, who made the distribution Thursday, at the Emir’s Palace in Nasarawa LG, said the gesture was to enable the beneficiaries celebrate the forthcoming sallah with joy.

According to her, 700 people cut across 7 electoral wards of the constituency benefitted from this gesture.

“We have distributed over 100 bags of 50 kg of rice, 40 bags of 50kg of NPK fertilizer, 20 bags of millet, 200 wrappers for the women and 100 wrappers and other clothing materials for the orphans.

“We gave 200 women and 100 orphans sallah clothes with money for sewing and we also gave 33 religious leaders one bag of 50kg of rice with N10,000 each for them to prepare for Sallah”

“We also gave 100 community leaders N5000 each and we have ward committee where 5 bags of 50kg of rice and 2 bags of millet have been given to them to share to people of their electoral wards,” she said

According to her, five persons in each of the seven electoral wards have been given five bags of fertilizers for farming season.

The Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs said that the fertilizer was to boost food security in her constituency.

Earlier, Rt. Hon Danladi Jatau, the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, lauded Hon Hajarat’s initiative, saying that it would go a long way in improving on the standard of living of the people of the constituency.

“Hon Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim, the only female flower in the House is a focused and good representative of Nasarawa Central constituency

“You did not made mistake for electing her to be your member as she is doing well in the House and providing the much needed dividends of democracy to you,” he said

Rt. Hon Jatau also drummed support for her and Gov. Abdullahi Sule and other leaders to succeed.

“Please continue to support Hon Hajarat, support His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule to succeed as he is doing well in the state,” he said

On his part, the Emir of Nasarawa, Alhaji Usman Ibrahim Jibrin, appreciated Hon Hajarat, for the gesture and prayed God to bless her abundantly.

The Emir of Nasarawa, who was represented by Alhaji Idris Mohammed Loko, said that the emirate council was proud of Hon Hajarat’s leadership style.

Responding, Umar Abubakar, the Imam of Kurudu, Mohammed Sani Suleiman and Safiya Aliyu, among other beneficiaries appreciated Hon Hajarat for the gesture and prayed God to bless her abundantly.
