The name, Nathanjae [Jonathan Joshua Unekuojo] may not have started ringing an intermittent bell in every household but close p4als and critics in the expanding Nigerian music industry knew before his just-released EP that he is another gifted talent to watch. He is the latest sensation across board.
Already, the Ep aptly 5titled ‘’Two’s Day’’, is currently wowing music lovers across the country and beyond. Since it dropped early February, the two tracker has been enjoying ceaceless airplays overboard on both the tv and radio. It presently streams with over 3,000 followers across all platforms.
Nathanjae, an undergraduate of Lead City University Ibadan, explained that the title is synonymous with the two songs therein which dwells on the relationship between man and woman in the society.
‘’The songs preach about good life and love as it relates to societal coexistence. There is need for peace and love in our daily activities,’’ he adds.
Produced by Fedo and engineered by Emmyzyz Adager, the artiste displays his diversity by creating a unique sound with a fusion of Afrobeat, Hiphop, Ethinic Pop, Reggae, all combined with sublime lyrics to make a catchy hook using trending slangs crowned with subtle vocals and a message for all.
‘Two’s Day’ has a follow up video for one of the tracks, ‘Stew Gang’. The Afrobeat/Afrotrap sensation who got his musical inspiration from his mother – a gospel artiste in her days – has been into music since the age of nine, and has evolved over the years, enabling him to be prolific in the art, carving a niche with his energetic performance as he creates lovely tunes, spinning into gold by making hit after hit.
‘’I actually started my music career in the church, Jubilee Bible Church. I performed on stage for the first time when I was in SS3. It’s a moment I can’t forget because the performance was so electrifying as my audience were all over me yearning for more. Ever since, there’s been no looking back and everywhere has been cool.’’
At 24, Nathanjae who hails from Kogi State is also known for his hot singles and Ep like ’Money and Kush’, ‘ Awon Boiz Mi’, ‘Shay Na Mi,’ and ‘Gbedu 4the gods.’
He has performed with several prominent artistes such as M.I Abaga, Mayorkun, Davido and a host of others. He thanks them all for working tirelessly hard to develop the Nigerian music and the musicians.
