NECO releases result of 2020/2021 National Common Entrance Examination

BESDA: FG commends ZMSG for moving up NECO chart from 37th to 14th position

The result of 2020/2021 Entrance Examination into the Federal Unity college conducted by the National Examination Council (NECO), has been released.

Briefing the press in Abuja on Monday, the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, said the highest scorer in the exam was Umeonyiagu Chinua Cruxifixio with 199 out of 200 cot off mark.


Others are Onwuannam Udochukwu, Imo, 198 and the third highest with 197, Marian Aderemi fro Ogun state.


The Minister disclosed that a total of 70,580 candidates sat for the examination out of which 24,416 candidates passed scorii a minimum of 66.


I noted also that the total carrying capacity of our 110 unity colleges now stands at 26,625having added 720 slots with the establishment of six more Federal Science and Technical Colleges across the six geo-political zones.”

As has been the tradition for decades, the admission criteria include 60 percent strictly on merit, 30 percent based on states’ representation in the unity colleges and the remaining 10 percent to cover other Sundry considerations such as special needs candidates, gender, local community and biological children of teachers, PTA, SBMC and old students organisations 7″, he said.


Adamu directed the principals to complete both the merit based ( 60 percent and 30 percent of equality of states’ admissions within 72 hours.
