Nigeria records 179 new COVID-19 infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), reported on Wednesday that 179 new coronavirus (COVID-19) infections had been recorded across the country.

This brings to 60,834 the total number of confirmed infections as at October 14, according to the health agency.

The NCDC made this know in its daily update via its official twitter handle @NCDCgov.

It also reported that of the total number of infections in Nigeria, 52,143 cases had been discharged with 1,116 deaths recorded since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic early this year.

A breakdown of the 179 new cases shows that Lagos topping with 116, Anambra-20, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)-9 and Oyo-9.

The remaining cases came from Rivers-9, Delta-3, Nasarawa-3, Edo-2, Kaduna-2, Ogun-2, Plateau-2, Ekiti-1, and Osun-1.
