The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Friday reported 51 news cases of coronavirus, the highest daily record the country has witnessed since the COVID-19 pandemic.
By this report, total confirmed cases have now escalated to 493.
Of the 51 new cases, Lagos recorded 32, Kano was next with six, followed by Kwara with five.
While FCT, Oyo and Katsina recorded two new cases each, Ogun and Ekiti reported one each.
NCDC on its official Twitter page said, “As at 10:10 pm 17th April there are 493 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria.”
Thus far, 159 cases have been discharged, with 17 deaths.
