Nigerian Army has transported 348 troops in and out of the Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) area as part of the second Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Welfare Flight for November.
A reliable Army Headquarters source told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the airlift took place on Saturday using a chartered aircraft.
According to the source, 174 personnel were flown into the North-East while another 174 were brought out under the ongoing rotation and welfare support arrangement.
The welfare flight scheme, the source explained, was created to ease the strain of long road journeys for soldiers deployed in the region and to ensure quicker, safer troop movement.
The initiative, he added, has played a significant role in sustaining morale on the frontlines.
“With the latest operation, the Army has now moved a cumulative total of 28,680 personnel into and out of the OPHK theatre since the commencement of the scheme,” the source said.
He added that the exercise reflects the commitment of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, to strengthening troop welfare and maintaining high morale among personnel.
