Ogbomoso United FC appoints Opeyemi Ige as new head coach
The Management of Ogbomoso United Football Club has appointed Opeyemi Ige as the new head coach of the club.
Ige is to replace Niyi Oyekale who left his role at the club last year.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ogbomoso United FC is a Nationwide League One (NLO) 2, side.
Stephen Adetunji, the Media Manager of the Ogbomoso-based club in a statement on Wednesday disclosed that the new helmsman would take charge the team for the 2021/2022 season.
“The new head coach, Ige Opeyemi, was born in Esa Oke Osun State but not new to Ogbomoso football.
“He is a graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Science and Technology Ogbomoso and until his appointment, the Assistant Coach of FC Zenith Ogbomoso.
“Coach Ige held an Advance Coaching Course from the National Institute for Sports Surulere Lagos.
“His appointment takes immediate effect. The management wish him all the best in his new challenge,’’ Adetunji said.
NAN reports that Ogbomoso United FC finished 2nd in 2020/2021 NLO 2 playoffs in Osogbo Centre and would now face a bigger challenge in NLO 1 in 2022. (NAN)
