L-R: Former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom; FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike; and former Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu during closed-door PDP stakeholders meeting to address the party's lingering crisis
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has expressed confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will bounce back from its current challenges.
Wike made this assertion while hosting stakeholders from the party’s various factions in Abuja.
He urged party members to put aside their differences and work towards the party’s survival.
“Let us not allow greed and ego to kill our party,” Wike warned, emphasizing the need for unity and adherence to the party’s constitution.
Wike highlighted the positive impact of the G5 governors’ decisions, saying, “If G5 did not take the decision we took, this country would have been in crisis.”
He reiterated that respecting the party’s and nation’s constitutions is crucial.
Former Governor Samuel Ortom praised Wike’s contributions to the PDP, stating, “Who has contributed to the growth of PDP more than Wike?”
Ortom acknowledged the party’s mistakes but emphasized the importance of learning from them.
The meeting, attended by former governors, senators, and party executives, demonstrated a commitment to reviving the PDP.
With Wike’s leadership, stakeholders aim to navigate the party’s current challenges and restore its former glory.
