
Crime suspect in police handcuff

Kwara State Police Command has apprehended a 29-year-old man suspected of dismembering his pregnant sister-in-law, Mrs. Esther Enemo, in the Temidire community, Ilorin.
This is according to a statement released on Saturday by the police spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi.
The gruesome incident occurred in the early hours of August 21 at Egbejila Road.
Ejire-Adeyemi stated, “A resident of the area reported a suspected foul play within the residence of one Mrs Esther Enemo.”
Responding promptly, police detectives discovered the dismembered body of the 39-year-old victim in a bush behind her home.
“Further search led to the recovery of other parts of her body concealed in a sack and dumped beneath a nearby community bridge,” the spokesperson added.
The suspect, identified as the younger brother of the victim’s husband, was seen leaving the house shortly before the discovery and has been arrested.
Ejire-Adeyemi noted, “The husband has also been contacted for necessary clarification.” The victim’s remains have been taken to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) morgue for an autopsy.
Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekimi, has ordered a thorough investigation, with Ejire-Adeyemi stating, “The Commissioner of Police has ordered a full-scale investigation into the matter, assuring that the command will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that justice is served.”
The police expressed regret over the incident and urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading rumors that could incite fear.
“The police would unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident and bring the perpetrators to face the full weight of the law,” Ejire-Adeyemi assured.
The command also called for community cooperation, encouraging residents to provide information to aid investigations and maintain peace.
Ejire-Adeyemi reiterated, “The command resolves to protect all residents and ensure peace prevailed in the state.”
