Osun State Police Command has deployed personnel to provide security and monitor a protest embarked on by certain groups in Osogbo, the state capital.
The Take It Back Movement had announced a nationwide peaceful protest against economic hardship, rallying support from Nigerians and other groups.
Police spokesperson in Osun, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, assured residents of police protection of lives and property.

“So far, the protest has been peaceful. Although we have the protesters in different factions,” he said.
“We have the Coalition and the Take it Back (Sowore) people. Nonetheless, we are monitoring all of them.”
The coordinator of the Take It Back Movement in Osun, Victor Lijofi, had appealed to security agents and the state government not to disrupt their protest.
The police said they are closely monitoring the situation to forestall any breakdown of law and order
