
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara

As Nigeria celebrates 26 years of uninterrupted democratic governance, suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting fundamental human rights.
In his Democracy Day message, Fubara emphasized the importance of robust security measures to safeguard lives and property while maintaining transparency and accountability in governance.
“We must safeguard lives and property through robust security measures while maintaining a government rooted in transparency and accountability,” Fubara said.
He called for collaboration across political divides to build a society where every citizen’s voice is heard and supported.
Fubara urged citizens to unite, innovate, and pursue common goals, stressing the importance of honoring the legacy of those who sacrificed for Nigeria’s democratic journey.
“Democracy must be actively protected and nurtured, especially during challenging times,” he said.
The governor expressed optimism about Rivers’ future, saying, “Rivers will emerge stronger and more united despite current challenges.”
He appealed to residents and Nigerians to commit to building a society where everyone can contribute meaningfully to national and state development.
