2026 World Cup Awards: Mbappé wins Golden Boot, Rodri named Best Player (full winners list)

Spain’s triumphant FIFA World Cup campaign was crowned with a clean sweep of the tournament’s biggest individual honours, following their historic title-winning performance in Sunday’s final.

Midfield maestro Rodri emerged as the standout performer of the competition, claiming the Adidas Golden Ball after inspiring Spain to their second FIFA World Cup title.

The Manchester City midfielder anchored Spain’s midfield throughout the tournament, featuring in all eight matches as Luis de la Fuente’s side produced one of the most dominant World Cup campaigns in history. La Roja also set a new record by becoming the first team to win the tournament while conceding just one goal from start to finish.

France captain Kylian Mbappé finished the competition as the tournament’s leading scorer, earning the Golden Boot after scoring 10 goals in eight appearances. The Real Madrid forward secured the award despite France finishing fourth following defeat to England in the third-place play-off.

Spain’s impressive defensive display was also recognised, with goalkeeper Unai Simón receiving the Golden Glove Award after keeping seven clean sheets in eight matches.

Young defender Pau Cubarsí completed Spain’s haul of individual honours by winning the FIFA Best Young Player Award, underlining the country’s dominance throughout the tournament.
