Sen. Wamakko donates over N3m to bereaved parents of Sokoto boat mishap

Former Governor of Sokoto State and Sentor representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, Aliyu Wamakko on Saturday paid a condolence visit to Gidan Mangana Village in Shagari LGA, where about 29 persons died recently from boat mishap.

Senator Wamakko, who was accompanied by the Executive Secretary, Police Trust Fund, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Yusuf Suleiman, among other respectable dignitaries in the state, urged the bereaved patents to take solace in Allah.

According to him, “Only Allah gives live and takes. As Muslims, we are therefore urged to accept Allah’s doing without contestation. All we can do is to pray for repose of their souls”.

“Though, its painful that such young human beings all died in a single day. But what else can we do, hence Allah’s wish is always unquestionable and the best for us”.

While donating the sum of N2.9 million naira to the bereaved parents, Senator Wamakko also donated 100,000 each to the village head and the Imam of Gidan Magana.

Responding separately to the gesture, one of the bereaved parents who preferred anonymity, said Senator Wamakko is one politician who has no equal in terms of care, grassroots mobilization, and display of love for all and sundry as far as Sokoto State is concerned.
