Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for Kwara State following a directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to conduct an on-the-spot assessment of the recent deadly terrorist’s attack in Woro, Kaiama Local Government Area of the state.
The visit underscores the Federal Government’s resolve to respond decisively to the tragic incident, which has sparked concern across the country.
According to a statement issued by the Spokesman and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communication (Office of the Vice President), Stanley Nkwocha, the Vice President is in Kwara State to personally evaluate the situation on the ground and engage with relevant stakeholders.
During the visit, Vice President Shettima is also conveying President Tinubu’s strong assurances that the Federal Government will not relent in its efforts until those responsible for the attack are tracked, apprehended, and brought to justice.
The Federal Government, the statement noted, remains committed to protecting lives and property while ensuring that acts of violence are met with swift and decisive action.
The outcome of the Vice President’s assessment is expected to guide further security and humanitarian interventions in the affected community.
