Mr. Peter Obi and Mr. Reno Omokri
By CALLISTUS OFFOR, Abuja –
Reno Omokri, a political activist and former presidential aide, has citizens the 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi for allegedly de-marketing Nigeria.
Omokri accused Obi of spreading falsehoods about the country’s electrical infrastructure and election process, praising other African nations instead.
“Peter Obi’s constant de-marketing of Nigeria is worrisome,” Omokri said. “He claims Tanzania has better electrical infrastructure and praises South Africa’s election process. But the truth is, Nigeria’s election was free and fair, and Obi’s loss was due to his own shortcomings, not INEC’s fault.”
Omokri also criticized Obi’s campaign strategy, saying it alienated the Muslim community and cost him vital votes. “Obi’s lust for power and shortsightedness led to his downfall,” Omokri added.
The activist urged Obi to stop blaming INEC and focus on constructive criticism, warning that continued de-marketing of Nigeria would only harm the country’s reputation.

“Peter Obi ought to stop de-marketing Nigeria in favour of other and smaller African countries. First, he lied about Tanzania having better electrical infrastructure and having 100% power provision. And now he is condemning our election and praising South Africa’s. The truth, as Professor Wole Soyinka said, ironically, in South Africa last year, is that Peter Obi lost the #NigerianElections2023 freely and fairly. That election was not stolen from him.
“As I told him before the election, if the Peoples Democratic Party could not defeat the All Progressives Congress when we were united in 2019, and he was our vice Presidential nominee, how would we beat them in 2023, when we were divided into four? Obi went with almost all of our votes in the Southeast. Kwankwaso departed and deleted the two million votes in Kano. The G5 broke away with three million votes we were counting on. Leaving only a rump for the PDP nominee: Waziri Atiku Abubakar.
“And to make matters worse, Peter Obi alienated the Muslim Ummah by jumping from church to church, shouting, ‘Church, take back your country!’
“It was the lust for power and shortsightedness of people like Obi that cost us power in 2023. The Independent National Electoral Commission is blameless in this matter. Even Peter Obi’s former running mate and the Director General of his campaign, Doyin Okupe, has admitted as recently as two days ago, that Peter Obi had no chance of winning the election.
“So, Mr. Obi and his Obidients should stop blaming INEC and de-marketing Nigeria. They lost the election in 2023. And of Yes Daddy contests again in 2027, a worse fate awaits him.
