Theater Commander tasks troops to remain focus, proactive in operational engagement

The Theatre Commander (TC) Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Christopher Musa has urged the troops to remain focused, determined and more proactive in their operational engagements, in order to dominate the general area and deny the insurgents freedom of action.

Major General Musa gave the charge during his visit to the Headquarters Sector 2 Area of Responsibility in continuation of his familiarization tour of Sectors within the Theatre of operations.

A statement by The Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyeama Nwachukwu, explained that the essence of the visit was also part of his operational activities to assess the combat readiness and preparedness of troops of the sector.

During the tour, the Theatre Commander inspected the newly constructed barracks accommodation for officers and soldiers at 233 battalion, as well as the Field Ambulance established to cater for the medical needs of troops in the Battalion.

The Theatre Commander also held a town hall meeting with some security stakeholders, including members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, Vigilantes, hunters, Peace Corps officials, as well as members of Yobe State National Union of Road Transport Workers.

The interaction afforded the Theatre and the stakeholders a veritable platform to analyse issues of security interest and to evaluate the conduct of the various groups and union, as it affects the ongoing counter Terrorism Counter Insurgency operations in the theatre.

Major General Musa urged all to be sincere in their activities and endeavour to expose identified moles within their organizations.

He was accompanied on the visit by the Principal Staff Officers from Headquarters Theatre Command.
