A heartbreaking incident occurred in Okitipupa, Ondo State, where a 25-year-old man, Michael Ikuedowoni, was stabbed to death by his girlfriend, Augustina Mowari, over alleged infidelity.
According to NAN reports, the couple had a history of disputes rooted in mistrust and suspicions of cheating.
The fatal altercation reportedly began when Augustina confronted Michael over claims that he was having an affair with another woman.
The argument quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, and in the heat of the moment, Augustina allegedly grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed Michael in the leg. However, one source indicates the stabbing might have occurred on the chest.
Michael was initially taken to a nearby hospital, where he received treatment and was discharged. Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated after he returned home, with his leg becoming swollen.
He was rushed back to the hospital on Sunday night but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
A neighbor, who preferred anonymity, described the tragic scene: “The confrontation soon escalated into a fight, as the suspect allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed her boyfriend.” The police have confirmed the incident and arrested the suspect.
Police Public Relations Officer in Ondo State, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, stated that the suspect is currently in custody and the case will be charged to court after investigations are concluded.
“There was an argument between the two, which led to the suspect stabbing the victim with scissors.
“He later died in the hospital
“The suspect is in our custody, and the case will be charged to court after investigations are concluded,” Ayanlade explained.
