Wamakko commissions hospital established by indigene of Sokoto

The philanthropic Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has commissioned a private hospital named ‘Foresight Premier Hospitals’ founded by an indigene of Sokoto State, Dr. Shamsu Aliyu.

Wamakko, who was the Special Guest at the occasion, described the foresight of the founder of the health centre as commendable, urging other well meaning individuals in the State to emulate him.

While noting that providing private hospitals in the State will bring healthcare services closer to the people, Senator Wamakko further appealed to the people of the state to patronize the hospital so as to encourage the establishment of more private health facilities in the State.

Wamakko also divulged that as a Senator representing Sokoto North and former governor of the State, he had built a private hospital in the State which will soon be unveiled as a way of providing effective health service delivery.

He therefore, commended the effort of Dr. Mansur Isah Buhari and Dr. Bashir Muhammad Achida, both from the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto on their role towards enlightening the general public to know their rights all the times.

Speaking, Dr. Shamsu Aliyu told the Senator that plans are underway by him to establish more hospitals in the zone and the nation at large as a way of bringing succour to the indigent people.

Dr Aliyu thanked Sen. Wamakko for honouring his invitation to commission the hospital.

Dr. Mansur Isah Buhari, from the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto stated that the ultra-modern, world class hospital has the state-of-the–art facilities.

He said that the 24-bed capacity hospital has an operation room, pharmacy, labor room, ICU, male and female amenity wards and a recovery room , among other facilities needed for a hospital to be effective.

Dr Buhari said that the hospital would provide about 300 job opportunities for the people of the state.

He added that the founder is building four other hospitals across the country aimed at complementing the public ones across board.

The commissioning ceremony, which was performed at Mai Kahon Karo Road, Sokoto had in attendance many personalities from within and outside the State.

A statement by Bashir Abubakar, the Special Adviser, on Media to Senator Wamakko named those that graced the occasion to include, former Sokoto Head of Service, Alhaji Bature Muhammad ShinKafi, former Special Adviser, Political to the immediate past Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Harande Mahe and APC Publicity Secretary in the State Alhaji Sambo Bello Danchadi, among others.
