The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), has warned Nigerians not to fall prey to fake recruitment advertisements being circulated by unscrupulous persons on the social media.

The NIS in a statement on Thursday via its X handle (formerly Twitter), urged the public to disregard any message(s) from anyone masquerading him/herself as an officer (especially on Facebook) of The Service with claims of having a plug/slot for recruitment.

The service, however , urged the general public to report such fraudsters to the relevant quarters.for appropriate action.

The statement reads in parts: “If and when we (NIS) do begin our recruitment, be rest assured that you would “hear” from us FIRST.

“Your personal data and hard earned money are too important to give/divulge to unscrupulous elements.

“Kindly disregard any message(s) from anyone masquerading him/herself as an officer (especially on Facebook) of The Service with claims of having a plug/slot for recruitment, and report to the relevant quarters.

“The Service would not be held responsible for issues that may arise from individuals patronizing these fake recruiters.

“Our official social media pages on X and Instagram remain: nigimmigration

“Any flyer that you may have come across anywhere, that is not on our social media pages is FAKE.

“SHINE YOUR EYES make dem no “rip” you!!!!
