Workers’ Day: Yobe State University VC urges staff to work with passion

As workers all over the world mark The International Day for Workers, the Vice Chancellor of Yobe State University, Damaturu, Prof. Mala Mohammed Daura, has called on staff of the university to always work with passion in order to ensure quality service delivery and promote the image of the institution.

NATIONAL ACCORD reports that International Labour Day also known as May Day is celebrated every year on May 1 in a bid to promote the rights of working class and prevent them from exploitation. It also commemorate the struggles and sacrifices of the workers’ and labours’ movement.

Prof. Daura in a statement on Monday, said: “The passion for work is an essential component to be happy and productive at work and any passionate team strives for greater goals, establishes a better life and it will be an an asset to the University.”

He said The Yobe State Government has been supporting the university’s staff, disclosing that the government is always taking care of workers’ welfare as well as other fringe benefits.

The Vice Chancellor further said “there is strong need for the staff to work with passion so as to promote the University’s good reputation.”

While wishing the staff a successful celebration, he called on the good people of the state to continue to pray for Hon. Mai Mala Buni for a hitch free tenure ahead.
