World Humanitarian Day: Borno Govt flags off tree planting campaign

The campaign, which has the theme: "Plant Your Root in Borno", was flagged off by The State Deputy Governor, Hon. Usman Kadufur, at the Government House in Maiduguri.

As part of its activity to mark The 2021 World Humanitarian Day, which stand in solidarity for meaningful action on climate change, The Borno State Government has flagged off the planting of trees in the state.

The campaign, which has the theme: “Plant Your Root in Borno”, was flagged off by The State Deputy Governor, Hon. Usman Kadufur, at the Government House in Maiduguri.

The deputy governor used the occasion to called on the general public to embark on tree planting to mitigate the effects of climate change.

Highlight of the occasion include the planting of trees by the deputy governor on behalf of the Governor Babagana Zulum as well as The Chief of Staff to the governor, Professor Isa Marte Husseini.

The occasion was attended by the Special Adviser to the governor on Coordination of Sustainable Development and Humanitarian Response, Hajiya Mairo Mandara, amongst other aides and International NGOs
