Zulum commends troops for restoring peace in Borno as COAS organizes Christmas luncheon with troops

The Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum represented by his deputy, H.E Umar Usman Kadafur has commended the troops of operation Hadin Kai for their tireless efforts in restoring permanent peace in the state.

The governor stated this during the Chief of Army Staff Lt General Farouk Yahaya’s Christmas luncheon with troops , widows of fallen heroes and wounded troops of operation Hadin Kai at the Maimalari Cantonment Headquarters of Operation Lafiya dole in Maiduguri.

The governor said the gallant troops have sacrificed their lives and comfort of their families to remain in the front line for the protection of our father land which as a result some have paid the supreme price leaving widows and orphans behind.

He therefore promised to continue to support the families of the fallen heroes and soldiers who were wounded during the theatre of operation.

The deputy governor in company of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Farouq Yahaya, as well as the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isyaka Amao, have treated wounded gallant troops and widows of fallen heroes to a Christmas luncheon.

Millions of Naira was realized during the luncheon with the highest donation of five million naira from the Borno State Government as well as presentation of cash gifts to the widows of the fallen heroes by the service chiefs.

The deputy governor was accompanied by Member representing Biu at State House of Assembly Hon.Yakubu Kimba, Members of the Borno State Executive Council, Deputy Chief of Staff, Special Advisers, SSA and SA to the deputy governor among others.
